Set Up Custom Access Token Lifespan
By default configuration, a token for the Blank Query Connection is set to a one-year validity period since creation. However, you can adjust this duration based on your specific requirements.
Starting with version 1.6.15 of Power BI Connector for ServiceNow, you can also set up notifications so that all users with access tokens receive daily email notifications starting a week before their token expires.
This allows for precise control over token lifespans, aligning access management with company-specific needs.
Please follow the steps provided below to set up a custom token lifespan.
How to Change Token Lifespan
Being signed in to your ServiceNow instance, in the Filter navigator, enter Application Registry, and then select it from the search result.
Select PBI JWT Auth.
In the Access Token Lifespan field, enter the required validity period.
The validity period is displayed in seconds.
How to Set Up Notification About Access Token Expiration
Being signed in to your ServiceNow account, in the Filter navigator, enter Scheduled Jobs, and then select it from the search result.
Find and select Validate Token Expiration.
Select here.
Set up the required run range, and then select Update.
In the Search box, enter x_acsof_power_bi_s.notifybefore, and then select it from the search result.
Select here.
In the Value field, enter the required number of days, and then select Update.
