How to Recover Password to Vault Account?

 

Recovering your password is a simple process with two options available: Self Recovery and Admin Recovery.

  1. Self Recovery if you forgot your Personal Vault account Password but remember your Recovery Key.

  2. Request Admin Recovery if you forgot your Personal Vault account Password and Recovery Key.

Follow the steps below for each option.

Steps for Self Recovery (for Users with a Recovery Key)

 

Note! Self Recovery is possible only for Users who didn’t lose Recovery Key.

 

Any user can reset their Vault account password from their account without contacting Admin following these steps:

1 Click on Self Recovery

2 You will be prompted to enter Recovery Key that you downloaded in the past

3 Press RECOVER MY ACCOUNT button.

If Recovery Key is correct, you will be automatically redirected to the page to set your new password. Follow these steps to create a new password:

1 Enter new password that you will be able to remember

2 Confirm your password

3 Click Next to complete the process.

 

After you confirm your new password, press DOWNLOAD button to download your new Recovery Key. Use that Recovery Key for further account access and dismiss the previous one.

Steps for Admin Password Recovery (for Users without a Recovery Key)

 

Only users who have Jira Administrator role can Accept or Cancel Password Recovery Requests.

 

If users forget the password and Recovery Key, they can reset their password by sending a recovery request to Jira Admin.

Follow these steps to request Admin recovery:

1 Click on REQUEST ADMIN RECOVERY button

2 On the redirected page, optionally describe your request

3 Click REQUEST ADMINS FOR RECOVERY button.

 

 

 

Jira Admins will receive your request and need to approve it.

Admins can refer to these instructions on how to accept or cancel password recovery requests.

Press CANCEL REQUEST if you wish to cancel it.

Once your request is approved, you will be able to complete the process. Click COMPLETE RECOVERY button to proceed with a new Vault account password creation.

Follow these steps to create a new password:

1 Enter a new password that you will be able to remember

2 Confirm your password

3 Click Next to complete the process.

After you confirm your new password, press DOWNLOAD to download your new Recovery Key. Use this Recovery Key for further account access and dismiss the previous one.
