SAML SSO for Jira Data Center applications - this article might also be helpful, namely in selecting the SSO functioning mode that matches your specific needs.

After completing the SSO setup, you have to verify that users can successfully authorize and log in to Jira through the authentication methods provided by the selected provider. |
Authorization and Data Export
During data export to Microsoft Power BI, we use the basic type of authorization, meaning we specify access rights to resources. In our case, it’s a data source created with a Power BI Connector.
Before the user exports the data, you have to ensure that this user has access to the app itself and the corresponding Jira data.

Basic Authorization with Username and Password
To use this type of authorization, initially, you have to enable the Allow basic authentication on API calls option.
In the authorization window, you have to enter your username and password that are associated with your Jira instance not with your Okta account.
Info |
---|
Sometimes Jira username and Okta username might be the same. However, the passwords may differ. To avoid any errors, please use the Jira username and password.
Basic Authorization with PAT
As an alternative, you may authorize with PAT.
