How to Get Access Token
An access token functions like a password, allowing the Power BI Connector to retrieve data from the monday.com API.
monday.com provides 2 types of tokens: an App token, which is the regular access token you get once you start using Power BI Connector for monday.com, and a Personal token, which helps accelerate data export.
When exporting a large amount of data, you may encounter an errors or a slowdown in the export process due to API rate limits. To increase the API rate limit, you need to obtain a Personal token.
Even if you obtain a Personal token, to connect to Microsoft Power BI, use your App (access) token.
How to Get App Token
Being signed in to your monday.com account, select Power BI Connector widget.
Select Tokens, and the select Copy token.
Use this token as a password while connecting to Microsoft Power BI.
How to Get Personal Token
Despite being called a Personal token, it actually functions as an account token since all users on the instance can use it. Therefore, if two users are exporting a large amount of data simultaneously, the data export process might slow down.
Being signed in to your monday.com account, select your profile picture, and then select </> Developers.
Select My access tokens.
Select Show.
Select Copy.
Open your Power BI Connector widget, select Tokens.
In the Personal Token field, paste your token, and then select Save.
