How to Export Shopify Data Using OData

  1. Select the Copy link icon.

  1. Launch your Tableau Software.

  2. Select More…, and then select OData.

  1. In the Server field, paste the copied link of your data source.

  2. In the Authentication field, select Username and Password.

  3. In the Username field, enter the copied Login credential.

  4. In the Password field, enter the copied Password credential.

If necessary, you can change the default password.

  1. Select Sign In.

  1. Go back to the Data sources page, select Menu, and then select Settings.

  2. Copy these credentials one by one, and then use to authenticate to Tableau.

Data will be loaded into Tableau. If there is a large amount of data to be imported, it may take some time.

Proceed to Sheet 1, where you can start building graphs and dashboards based on the Shopify data. To do this, simply select the visualization type and the data you want to display on the graph or dashboard.

How to Export Data Using WDC URL

Tableau marked WDC (Web Data Connector) as deprecated, but you can still export data using this option with Tableau Connector for Shopify.

  1. Select the Copy link icon.

  1. Launch your Tableau Software, select More…, and then select Web Data Connector (deprecated).

  1. Paste the copied WDC URL into the address bar at the top or in the box in the middle, and then press Enter.

  1. In the Username field, enter the copied Login credential.

  2. In the Password field, enter the copied Password credential.

  3. Select Log in and Export.

  1. Go back to the Data sources page, select Menu, and then select Settings.

  2. Copy these credentials one by one, and then use to authenticate to Tableau.
