This guide is about how to reset 2FA for Jira: U2F & TOTP settings for a certain user. In case when user lost all devices (phone, U2f device or access to his one-time secret password).

Step 1. Go to Jira Administration tab and select Manage app section.

Step 2. On the left side menu panel find “2FA FOR JIRA: U2F & TOTP” tab and click User Management.

Step 3. Type at least 4 letters to search

users by username.

You will see all users (username with an email address) based on the username which you type. Find the user in the dropdown list and click Reset

Step 4. Bulk reset authentication settings

  1. None -if you choose this option,

  2. All -it will be applied to all users.

  3. Groups - it will be applied only for selected groups of users.

  4. All except groups - this option allows you to choose а certain group of Jira users and will reset the authentication settings in Jira.

  5. A special field for entering the list of groups separated by commas. Example "jira-administrators, jira-users".

  6. Reset -this action will reset authentication settings to defaults.
