create an Access Token?

To export data from Jira to Oracle Analytics Cloud in a secure way, you will need to create an Access Token.

Here are the steps to create your Access Token:

  1. Open the Oracle Analytics Cloud Connector for Jira app and navigate to the Tokens section.

  2. Make sure you’re at the Access Token tab.

  3. Click on the "Create new token" button.

4. Enter a label that is short, memorable, and easy for you to remember.

5. Click the "Create" button to generate the Access Token.

6. Copy the Access Token that is generated. Please note that you won't be able to see the Access Token again once you leave this page.

7. You can create up to 25 Access Tokens and revoke the ones you don’t need anymore.

How to use the Access Token in Oracle Analytics?

To use the Jira API token for data export:

Copy the Data Source URL by clicking the Copy link icon

In the Oracle Analytics Desktop, click CreateConnection → select OData feed.

  • Enter connection name.

  • Enter Data Source URL into URL.

  • Enter your account email as a user name.

  • Enter the Access Token into a Password field.

  • Click Connect

Export Data into Oracle Analytics Desktop

  1. Select Copy URL.

  1. Launch your Oracle Analytics Desktop, select Create, and then select Connection.

  1. In the *Connection Name, enter the name for your connection.

  2. [Optional] In the Description field, enter any desired description.

  3. In the * URL field, paste the copied link in step 1.

  4. In the Username field, enter your Jira username.

  5. In the Password field, enter your access token created here.

  6. Select Save.

How to Export Data into Oracle Analytics Service

  1. Select Copy URL.

  1. In the workspace area, select Create, and then select Connection.
