When a Jira user creates an account in the Vault Password Manager app, they generate he generates an Application Password. This password is used to authenticate the user's access to the VAULT application / account.
Once authenticated, the user can access and manage stored credentials and other items for various websites within the Vaults. The Vault serves as the space where users can add, view, and manage stored items. Access to the Vault is granted only after successfully entering the correct Application Password.
