Steps to export data from QuickBooks to Microsoft Power BI
Before you start
To be able to import data from QuickBooks into Power BI, your QuickBooks administrator should grant you permission to access Power BI Connector for QuickBooks application.
If you don't have this access, please contact your QuickBooks Administrator to grant Power BI Connector for QuickBooks permissions first. QuickBooks Administrators can always access application configurations.
Create a data source in Power BI Connector for QuickBooks
Step 1. Launch Power BI Connector for QuickBooksapplication. Press New data source button.
Below you can find a description of the fields, buttons, and settings of data source creation page:
Details section
1. Name -Enter data source name.
2. Description - Enter data source description.
Export options section
Select basic entities
At the moment, the output of the following QuickBooks Online tables is being logged:

Filter section
2. Adjust the filter if you need.
Power BI Connector for QuickBooks provides a set of keywords and common search operators, to narrow search results.
You can filter results by:
ID, Text field, Date field, Money field, Enum field.
Select fields section
3. Select fields for export in main and additional entities.
1. Entity - represents one of the tables, available for export. Subsections can be expanded at will, by clicking on them.
2. Field - represents a specific field, available for export. Toggle the checkbox, to include/exclude it from the export.
3. Number of selected fields.
“Apply” section
Save - click to save a data source.
Cancel - clear unsaved changes.

Make sure to Save a data source prior to leaving data source creation page. Otherwise, all settings will be lost. |

Click Menu icon to:
View data sources URL links, see ERD for created data sources, and delete data sources.

Import QuickBooks Online data into Microsoft Power BI
Step 1. Go to Menu, select Data Sources and Copy (1) the URL of your connector, generated by the app.
You can preview ERD (2) for the selected data source before data export or delete (3) created data source.
Step 2. Launch Power BI Desktop and Click Get Data > OData feed and paste the URL.
Step 3. Authorize by basic authorization in Power BI with your QuickBooks credentials: email as username and Password as password. For how to obtain credentials - read How to obtain OData Feed credentials?section.
Step 4. Select the tables you need and click Load.
After step 4 data will be loaded into Power BI.
If there is a big amount of data to be imported, it can take some time.
After this, you can start building graphs and dashboards based on the imported QuickBooks data. To do this, choose the visualization type and select the data you want to see on the graph or dashboard.
How to obtain OData Feed credentials
In Navigation bar, select Settings page.
Copy Login and Password for your Power BI feeds.
